About Dr. Emmanuel LalandeEngaging with Benedict College as vice president for enrollment management, Dr. Emmanuel Lalande guides aspects of the school's recruitment, admissions, retention, and financial aid services. Coordinating with various stakeholders from students to senior administrators, Dr. Emmanuel Lalande develops and implements the university’s enrollment management plan.
Prior to Benedict College Dr. Emmanuel Lalande served as the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Florida Memorial University (FMU) in Miami Gardens, Florida. As Vice President for Student Affairs, he provided leadership to the Division of Student Affairs, which comprises the following departments: Enrollment Management (Admissions and Financial Aid), Dean of Students, Athletics, Campus Public Safety, Health Services, Residential Life, Campus Ministries, Student Development Center, Student Publication, and Student Activities (Intramural, Student Government Association, Royal Court, and Greek Life). During his tenure, FMU had seen an approximate ten percent increase in summer enrollment in Summer 2017, It had also enrolled the largest Hispanic student enrollment in school history, established dual enrollment programs for the first time in school history, and developed a three-year enrollment management plan. Dr. Lalande previously engaged with Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis as dean of student success and was instrumental in raising more than $2 million in private donations and grants. Among the initiatives he successfully launched was one that provided math, science, and honors program students with a proactive living-learning community. He was also involved in developing a more inclusive campus culture, which fostered the creation of an LGBTQIA Alliance student organization.
From 2005 to 2010, Dr. Lalande engaged with Delaware State University as director of student leadership and activities, where he managed the MLK Student Center and a budget exceeding $1.2 million. Dr. Emmanuel Lalande’s responsibilities included the interpretation and enforcement of campus policies, with a focus on enabling positive student organization activities.
